Hollywood Carnival 2016 Recap

On Saturday, June 25th, 2016 at 11am to 3pm, The  Los Angeles Culture Festival and Hollywood Carnival brought to you the 5th Hollywood Carnival 2016.  The Parade of the Bands took to Hollywood Boulevard starting at Vermont and moved it’s way to Highland Avenue where the carnival ended and the  Culture Village Festival continued with live performances, great food, music and a melting pot of cultures from all over the world. The energy, colors, music, flags  waving, masqueraders dressed in vibrant colorful costumes, happy faces of participants of all ages, different cultures coming together for this high energetic and fun event.  As the parade  traveled along Hollywood Boulevard from Vermont Bl to Highland Ave, approximately 3 miles, the streets were lined with spectators from different countries wearing their colors and waving their flags representing their birth country or  the country of their parents.   Throughout the month of June, there were a series of event leading up to Hollywood Carnival weekend.  On Thursday, there was a welcome party at Project LA with live performances by Soca artist Ricardo Drue. On Friday, there was AWOL day party, followed by another explosive event, The Passport Experience that was held at the Belasco Theater downtown Los Angeles, performances by Angela Hunte, Olatunji, Machel Montano, DjStephen and so much more were there to entertain a packed Belasco and gave the audience a night to remember with high energy music, lots of dancing, flags waving as the  crowd sang along to every artist and to every  song the dj’s played. On Saturday, everyone was excited for the Parade of the Bands, a few bands participating this year are Epic Mas Band, Trinifeters, Island Revelers, Extacy Mas Band, Hollywood Massive, Sistas with Style, Carnival Jumbies and Bamboo Mas Band. After the parade everyone moved over to the Carnival Culture Village at Highland and Hollywood Bl. Saturday events ended with an after party at Tiffany’s. On Sunday another event called  SHINE Day Party was held at OHM Hollywood 11am to 5pm.  So looking forward to Hollywood Carnival 2017. Click Photos for more pics of Carnival.
