Recipe:

5 1/2 Cups Sugar
1 1/4 lbs Butter
8 eggs
6 Cups FlourÂ
1 Can (12 oz) Evaporated MilkÂ
1 sm Can 7Up (7.5 oz)
6 Tsp Baking Powder
2 Tsp Lemon EssenceÂ
2 Tsp Pineapple Essence
1 Tsp Rosewater *optional
1 Tbs Rum

Mix sugar and butter until creamy
Add 8 beaten eggs
Mix
Add flour Slowly
Add milk and 7up after every 2 Cups of flourÂ
Add Essence
Mix
Â
Heat Oven to 350 degrees
Bake 9 inch cakes for approximately 45 mins
Bake cake in tube pan for 1 hour 15 mins
Insert a toothpick into batter to check if cake is done (toothpick should be clean)

Let cool and decorate
Â
Boil condensed milk for 3 hours 30 mins to get best tasting caramel.
